Crayon Art

Yay for melting crayons on canvas with a hair dryer! I shared a tutorial for a kids abstract art project over on the MHCM blog today. I would like to try this again with colors that suit my style better. I'm thinking mostly whites, then some peach, seafoam green, aqua, and maybe a hint of silver. Anyway, check out the tutorial if you'd like! (There are tons of others on Pinterest too).  Now, to get the smell of melted crayons out of the house, I'll be baking some fall flavors granola.

Museum Blog

Hey! Today I just want to share another little place on the web you can find me blogging! I've shared things I've made for the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum on here before, but now I'll be blogging on the museum's very own blog! It's a family lifestyle blog sharing events and programs at the museum and also crafts, recipes, and all things kid friendly! Please check it out! and if you have friends with little ones, please share with them!

If anyone is interested in sharing a kid-friendly recipe/ craft/ anything, and would like to be featured on the MHCM blog, please email me at geena.rose@mhcm.org or leave a comment! Thanks.

Finish a thought- MHCM commision

So, remember back in this post I showed you what I had been working on for my first real commission? And then I moved on to good thrift finds and North Hampton and Christmas without ever telling you about my commission again? Well, here's what is up. I've made 5 Concha breads for the display so far! And am still working on a bunch of colorful sugar cookies. If you aren't familiar with concha bread you need to find a Mexican bakery and try some pan dulce!

things kids make

The things that kids leave behind at my job really make me smile/ crack me up. The pillow pet wearing the plaid shirt...is perfect.

working on

My first real commission! I'm creating a variety of faux bakery items for the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum! The products I'm making will be used in the museum's RiverTown exhibit. Above is just a peak at the begining of the process, and my messy craft table.
