Shop Update!

Just dropping in to let you know I've added a few new things to my shop! If you haven't checked out my store before, it's a collection of vintage women's clothing and house decor, and some handmade things as well. I am also now accepting credit cards through direct check out and etsy gift cards!  Please take a look if you have time. The holidays are coming up, so please consider supporting small businesses- I'm not just talking about my shop, but from local handmade businesses, maybe even from people you know in your community. This year I'm attempting to give gifts that are  entirely handmade or from a small/local business. It will be a challenge in that I wont be able to really wait til the last minute to shop, but rewarding in that the gifts will be unique and special, and I wont be giving my money to big corporations.

Don't forget to use coupon code "SEAFOAM15" to get 15% off your order at TheFancyBear Handmade & Vintage.

New in Store

I am so, so glad that it's Saturday. I picked up some extra  shifts at work this week and found myself working over 40hrs. I don't know how you 9-5ers do it everyday!

I've added a few new things to my store, so check out TheFancyBear and don't forget to use the fall coupon code I've created for my blog readers: SEAFOAM15 for 15% off your order! I hope everyone has a great weekend. Sleep in, and make the most of it before you're back to the grind.

yard salin'

I remembered that I love yard sales this weekend. Got this wacky skirt & sweater combo , plus the denim bustier style top for 10 bucks! I picked up a few other things you will see in my store soon, too. Have a happy Labor day!

Recycled Fabric Bow

I have totally accidentally put thefancybear on the back burner for the last few weeks. I've had a lot going on with work and little trips here and there and updating the shop just got pushed to the side. But I think July will be the month I get back on track with it, with some fresh vintage clothing and bows made from recycled fabric like the one above. I made that little one for Heidi for her birthday. The fabric is from my old twin bedsheets. (used the fabric here too!) Anyways, I promise many updates in July! xo.

Home Sick

I'm home with a cold today. But it's ok, because I may have gotten myself a little present. Ok, a pretty big present. 'Cause if you didn't know it, I've been running my online shop and this blog without having my own computer! I've been pretty lucky to have a certain boy in my life who shares so nicely, but it's still been kinda hard to keep up with things when a computer isn't always there when you need it! Today, I used my macbook pro to add new items to my shop, and to fix up the shop my closet section on this blog! So make sure to check those updates!

Shop Updates!

These are just a few vintage pieces I added to my shop recently! I also slashed some prices and added a "SALE" section so check that out too. Oh, and you may have noticed (probably not) a new tab at the top of this blog that reads "Shop My Closet" ? Go ahead click it. There's nothing there yet but you'll get an idea of what to expect. I'll let you know when that's updated.

Self Timing

Lately, you can find me taking super awkward photos of myself for thefancybear. You know, head down, not knowing my 10 seconds worth of self timer are up, and then shamelessly uploading to Etsy instead of just asking a friend to model for me. Let's pretend it's completely intentional.

Bows in Action- Featured on Hummusbird!

Oh my Lovely. Here is an old friend of mine, Brigette, wearing one of my handmade hair bows! Doesn't she make it look good!? Brig has a blog called Hummusbird, which features her travel stories, fashion, DIY, decorating, and really, as her blog description says, "All things beautiful". After recently catching up with her a bit, I sent her a little gift of 2 handmade bows. The one she is wearing above was designed for her based on imagery from her blog, like this. This bow is now available made to order in my etsy shop.

Anyway, lucky me, my bows were featured on that lovely blog of hers!and she kinda said the sweetest all too wonderful things about me! Check out her post and gorgeous photos of them here.
Thanks, HummusBird!
