Vintage Ombre

I just added this amazing vintage ombre cardigan to my shop! I am sooo in love with this piece of well made, ombre goodness, but unfortunately it's not the right fit for me. When John saw that I was putting it up for sale at The Fancy Bear Vintage he seemed disapointed and said "you always sell all the best pieces of your wardrobe!" It's true, the best finds never fit and I just want them to end up with someone who will appreciate them and wear them all the time.  Anyway, I guess this is my love note to a cardigan.

Thinking about... Halloween Costumes!

I'm loving these kinda cute / kinda creepy vintage cards I got from my dad! I have a set for  sale in my store and am also thinking of doing a mystery card set for sale too. It's been kind of difficult to work on my shop lately being that I have been traveling a lot but things are starting to settle down and I am excited to have more time to work on it throughout fall and winter.

Right now I have a lot of stuff from the 50's, 60's, and 70's in the shop and I think some of it would be great for Halloween costumes! If you're looking for costume ideas check these out:

vintage cardigans - a shop update

Cardigan weather is coming up! added some pretty ones to the shop today and will be adding more tomorrow too. I also just created a tumblr so I can post my shop updates and such over there. I don't really know how to use it yet , give me some tips and follow me !

Vintage Shop Update

 I added some new stuff to The Fancy Bear today and will be adding a lot more over the next couple of days! Lots of funky vintage patterned stuff from the 60's and 70's mostly size Large or Plus size. Great stuff for Halloween costumes, fabric for other projects, or everyday wear. Check it out HERE.

Egyptian Vintage

Here I am just playing dress up with this very unique skirt my mom got in Egypt when she was around my age. I  feel like the bottom kinda looks like the skirt of a couch... in kind of a cool way. Not feeling gutsy enough to wear it out yet, so for now I'll just take fuzzy photo booth pics in it at home.  If anyone has any tips for styling this, please share!

I remembered that I love yard sales this weekend. Got this wacky skirt & sweater combo , plus the denim bustier style top for 10 bucks! I picked up a few other things you will see in my store soon, too. Have a happy Labor day!

Recycled Fabric Bow

I have totally accidentally put thefancybear on the back burner for the last few weeks. I've had a lot going on with work and little trips here and there and updating the shop just got pushed to the side. But I think July will be the month I get back on track with it, with some fresh vintage clothing and bows made from recycled fabric like the one above. I made that little one for Heidi for her birthday. The fabric is from my old twin bedsheets. (used the fabric here too!) Anyways, I promise many updates in July! xo.

Texture

Very Happy Winner

So, I'm super excited because I actually won something. I never win things. But alas, I won a giveaway on the tick tock vintage blog! I got a gift certificate to Maggie's Farm Vintage and picked out this adorable dress with bows and polka dots on it! Kinda perfect, right? Lately, you can find me taking super awkward photos of myself for thefancybear. You know, head down, not knowing my 10 seconds worth of self timer are up, and then shamelessly uploading to Etsy instead of just asking a friend to model for me. Let's pretend it's completely intentional.

Doe, a Deer

This sweet little family of vintage porcelain deer has just made a new home on my window sill. They belonged to my grandma so this fam has been in my fam for a while! They are so sweet and dainty with the cutest pink ears. What I love about vintage decor (and vintage anything) is the stories that come along with it, whether made up or real. It's even better when you're actually connected to those stories and they are the stories of your family!
