a quarter century

sporting the dress I recently altered (as seen in previous posts) for my 25th birthday. Birthday celebrations have so far included: many,many cupcakes, Indian food with John,  birthday angel food cake+ strawberries+ cream with mom, seeing Jeffrey Lewis play in Kingston with friends, super relaxing today + bubble tea + Between Two Ferns, and maybe cosmic bowling later tonight. I'm thinking of making one of those "25 before 26" lists  to help me do more of what I want to do... I'll share the list on here soon! and don't be fooled by my twirling, I froze my butt off for this picture.

Skirt to Beach Bag

John's mom recently gave me a bunch of her old clothes including a really cute blue skirt with mustard yellow floral pattern. I was really attracted to the colors and pattern but it just wasn't the right fit. Just in time before giving it away, I found this Skirt to Purse DIY and realized I could easily up-cycle that skirt into a beautiful beach bag. I love the way my beach bag turned out and it was really simple to make. I definitely used it every day this past week. Check out the step by step over on Sincerely, Kinsey to make your own! 

Another staple for me this summer has been this crochet top from In The Hammock Vintage. I've been loving it as a cover-up on the beach or with something under + some cut off shorts.

rainy day comfort

The most beautiful, cozy, crochet blanket was gifted to me earlier this week from John's Nana. What a sweetheart. I got it just in time for my rainy Monday off from work, which consisted of many snuggles on the couch. <3

Very Happy Winner

So, I'm super excited because I actually won something. I never win things. But alas, I won a giveaway on the tick tock vintage blog! I got a gift certificate to Maggie's Farm Vintage and picked out this adorable dress with bows and polka dots on it! Kinda perfect, right? Turquoise and Coral

Walking home on a windy day, wearing a skirt. It was not that fun. But luckily I was wearing opaque tights. And I still managed to snap a few shots with one hand while holding down my skirt with the other.

Wearing Red

It's not something I usually wear, but the color red has made its way into a few of my outfits this past week. First I gave myself red nails and the next thing I knew I had on this red button up!It's nice to change things up now and then.
Check out my robin's egg blue and seafoam green ring!I gave it a new life by painting it with nail polish! The ring previously had a tacky fake diamond flower shape and I never really wore it. Then I found this post on papernstitch and thought what a great idea! What do you think?

Today I finally have a day off(I don't why I'm saying this as if I wasn't just in Italy for 2 weeks). I'm going to spend the day making Christmas gifts and drinking warm beverages. Happy Monday!
