Cloud in Hand

This is a little cloud shaped pillow, soft sculpture if you will, that I have created for the children's museum. It's going to hang from the ceiling, along with a few others, in our farm/garden themed toddler room. I don't have any photos of the process but this is a real easy DIY if you want to make one for a baby's nursery or anywhere really.

You'll need
chalk, 2 pieces of the same sized fabric(I used an old sheet), a sewing machine or needle and thread if you're sewing by hand, and something to stuff it with- polyfil or fabric scraps, something soft.

Line up your fabric pieces, face down. Draw your cloud shape! Sew along it almost all the way to where you started, STOP. Turn it inside out. Fill it with the polyfil. sew up the rest. DONE.

And by the way, you can sing the title of this post to the tune of Hand in Glove.

Celebrity Waiters Brunch

Last Sunday I went to an event for the MHCM at a super fancy catering hall on the Hudson River! Local "celebrities" (Papa Snooks, some people from the radio, and Bobby of My Brother Bobby's Salsa were the ones I knew of) waited on us and served up non-stop mimosas and bloody Marys. There were waffle and omelet stations and fancy desserts. As you can see, I was a bit more interested in the food and chandeliers than our waiters. The brunch was silly and fun, and had an amazing turnout!
