these moments

I've been thinking about this little forgotten blog of mine and was feeling sorry for it. I scrolled through and was reminded of small, simple moments of my daily life and also big amazing adventures. both beautiful. I know the internet is saturated with this stuff, but these are my moments. and so .. the collection of the 2 here will continue on.

Brothers

I'm still here! I know this blog is very inconsistent... I've just moved and started  a new job so am trying to find time for all things I like to do and have to do. I do like to share photos and words on here very much. Mostly for myself  to look back on but I do hope anyone scrolling through enjoys it as well.

These boys are my favorite. My love and his little brother. John has always loved to take care of his baby bro. It's very sweet. They definitely have those times when they bicker and argue like animals too, but that's expected of siblings, right?  Anyway, these photos are from Nike Park in Clausland Mountain. There recently had been a fire there so we went up to check out the damage. It wasn't as bad as we had expected, though it was freezing cold so we didn't explore for that long.

Sleepy Hollow

Like I said, I'm a bit behind on sharing my October photos. These are from a few days before Halloween at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. We went there this time last year too. I love walking through the cemetery, it's a very beautiful place. We walked through a vacant outdoor haunted house again as well.  I promise only a few more October photos and then I'm willing to move on, though it's already getting so cold I don't think I want to.

fall adventures

It's been a while since I have posted anything on here, I have been busy with a renovation John and I are working on. We have been spending as much time as we can hiking and taking little adventures before Winter is here. Though we will probably bundle and spend much time outside year long. These photos are from a short hike we took in Rockland to 'the tunnels'. The project we are working on is almost done and then I will be posting here more often. I have lots of Autumn photos to share!

a day in Da Bronx

Last week we had a little adventure to da Bronx. John's mom has been talking about wanting to visit the neighborhood she grew up in, so John drove us all down for a little day trip! We got to see the house she lived in, her favorite pizza place, the school she went to, her favorite bakery, and hear stories from her childhood. We also had some real good pizza which I had been craving since being in Brooklyn the night before and not getting any. Anyway, I think we made his Mom very happy. It was a really nice day that we are thinking of making into a fall tradition.

Batting Rocks into the Hudson

 A chilly Fall day spent hiking with the boys and playing along the Hudson. I'm getting kinda sad that it will soon be more than a little too chilly for days like this. I definitely don't mind getting cozy with a movie inside, but playing outdoors is my favorite.

The cozy-cute-hat-scarf I'm wearing belonged to my great aunt and pretty much lives on my head all winter long. I'm selling one similar to it in the shop!

a Peek at My Wknd

Friday night we went to the Headless Horseman Haunted House and Hayride.  It's become a tradition that we go every year, despite the fact it's a little pricey, we just have to do it. I  had my cider donut and caramel apple of the season.  These photos are from Saturday - we spent all day in New Paltz, playing in the nature preserve and walking around town. It is a super beautiful place to be this time of year.  When we got home we had the best idea ever which was to make buffalo tempeh whole wheat pizza (it ruled!).  Sunday was  spent dog walking with my mom and making floral crowns, which I hope to share some pictures of later. Hope you had a lovely Autumn weekend too!

Sleepy Hollow

Saturday I took the train to Tarrytown where John and Ant met me for a nice fall adventure. I got my much needed after-train-ride-latte and vegan cookie and then we explored town. We ended up in the woods at the building site for a haunted house, which made for a fun, blood splattered photo back drop. The dress I'm wearing is my new 60's floral dress from KooKooKachooVintage, one of my new favorite etsy stores! After playing around there we made our way to the historic Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, which was a spooky yet romantic place to be this time of year. We walked around for 3 straight hours before heading home. A perfect October day with my boys.
