Summer's End

Getting in as many bike rides, campfires, garden veggies, and nights spent star gazing as possible.We are continuing our travels with a short trip to Vermont tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing my dad, exploring some new places, and riding the pine hill mountain bike trails!

a Peek at My Wknd

Friday night we went to the Headless Horseman Haunted House and Hayride.  It's become a tradition that we go every year, despite the fact it's a little pricey, we just have to do it. I  had my cider donut and caramel apple of the season.  These photos are from Saturday - we spent all day in New Paltz, playing in the nature preserve and walking around town. It is a super beautiful place to be this time of year.  When we got home we had the best idea ever which was to make buffalo tempeh whole wheat pizza (it ruled!).  Sunday was  spent dog walking with my mom and making floral crowns, which I hope to share some pictures of later. Hope you had a lovely Autumn weekend too!

Lately

I've been pushing myself in a lot of ways lately to just do more and be better.  I've been working hard on being healthy,  reading more, listening to more music, going to shows, being more social and just generally saying yes to as many opportunities as I can. This weekend that meant seeing some bands play in New Paltz, going out to the bar for a friend's birthday, the arlington street festival in Po-town (I got bubble tea, falafel, a veggie samosa, & thrifted 2 shirts and a wallet for 50cents!) , and a kinda crazy Fall party held by one of my coworkers.  And today has just been really wonderful and relaxing.  John and I opened all the windows, cleaned and saged our apt., and then cuddled in a hammock in the sun.  Just feelin' super excited that Fall is here and feel like it's going to be a really productive and beautiful season for me.

24 Miles

 I have been sort of absent from this little blog of mine lately. Things were a bit hectic last week I suppose. These are just some cell phone pics from a break we took on our 24 mile round trip bicycle ride the other day. I've just gotten comfortable with 12-16 miles at a time so 24 was tough! But felt really great and I stopped feeling bad about the veggie burger and fries and ice cream from the night before.  I've escaped to Vermont for the weekend and am about to enjoy a delicious all local meal after a day of pedal boating on the lake! Feeling pretty good. What are you doing this weekend?!

Feeling Playful

I love the little things one might over look in a day. Like waking up early and actually having enough time to make a choc/pb/banana smoothie before work. Or going out after dinner to play in the woods with John. You'll have to excuse the less frequent posts, it's getting hard for me to be on the internet when it's so nice outside! 

Herbs and Pool / An Eventful Saturday

Last Saturday was super fun and eventful. I texted Marena early in the morning to see if she wanted to hang in New Paltz. And I am so glad she did because we had the best all day and night hang out in a long time! Lunch at Bistro, thrifting at Salvo, we started her rooftop garden, played pool and had some beers with some of her friends, and then Sake at Oasis. Can't wait to see what this Saturday will bring!
